The organizers of the TotalEnergies Málaga Half Marathon 2027 confirm an important change for the next edition: the Expo will be held at the José María Martín Carpena Sports Arena, a larger, more modern venue with better connections to the city.

Its usual dates and schedule will remain the same: Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6, from 10:00 to 20:00.

A change to grow and improve the runner experience

The decision responds to an obvious need: accommodating a larger number of participants. For 2027, the organizers expect to sell out the 14,000 available bibs, a record figure that requires a venue with greater capacity and better services.

The Martín Carpena, in addition to its size, offers key advantages:

• Direct connection to public transport, thanks to the Palacio de los Deportes metro stop.
• Large parking availability in the area.
• More space for brands, sponsors, and organizations, allowing them to showcase and activate experiences for runners during the Expo.

We remind you that, in past editions, the Expo was held at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium, while in 2025 it took place at the Cruise Terminal. The move to Martín Carpena represents a step forward in capacity, accessibility, and growth potential.

A change supported by runners

The decision comes after analyzing the results of the survey conducted with participants, whose data show a mostly positive evaluation of the idea of moving the Expo to a venue like Martín Carpena. The option “Very good” was the most voted, followed by a high level of overall acceptance.

With these results, the organizers trust that the change will be well received and will help improve the experience for all runners and companions.
