The 36th edition of the TotalEnergies Málaga Half Marathon delivered a historic day marked by record numbers of registered runners, female participation, and international athletes, establishing the Málaga race as one of the major events on the international calendar.
Vincent Kipkorir, the main star
The standout performer of the race was the Kenyan Vincent Kipkorir, who, in his half marathon debut, claimed victory with a brilliant 00:59:30.
Despite the impressive time, he finished just over a minute behind the course record set last year by his compatriot Gilbert Kipkosgei with 58:27.
All-Kenyan men's podium
Esther Chebet dominates the women's field
In the women's race, victory went to the Ugandan Esther Chebet, who crossed the finish line with a time of 01:06:33.
Slovenian athlete Klara Lukan secured an impressive second place with 01:06:43, a performance that also allowed her to set the new Slovenian national record.
Third place went to the Kenyan Winnie Jepkosgei, with a time of 01:08:02.
Strong Spanish performance
On the national side, the standout athlete was Olympian Marta Galimany, who became the first Spanish woman to cross the finish line and also achieved her personal best with 01:09:22 at 40 years old.
In the men's field, Alberto Casas was the top Spanish finisher.
A course that confirms its success
The outstanding times once again confirm that the new race course has been a complete success.
The 2026 edition will be remembered in the history of the TotalEnergies Málaga Half Marathon as a record-setting day for a race that continues to push boundaries.
