• The race, which takes place this Sunday, March 15, will feature a comprehensive medical support plan to assist the 12,000 runners who have registered for this edition

Quirónsalud returns once again as the Official Medical Provider of the XXXV edition of the TotalEnergies Málaga City Half Marathon, which will take place next Sunday, March 15. On this occasion, the race will bring together 12,000 participants and will once again stand out for its flat and fast course, designed to maximize performance and encourage outstanding finish times for both elite athletes and recreational runners.

In the 2025 edition, athlete Gilbert Kipkosgei Kiprotich clocked a time of 58:27’, placing the race among the fastest in the world in its category, while in the women’s field Loice Chemnung crossed the finish line in 1:05:46h, further strengthening the event’s international prestige.

With the aim of safeguarding the health and well-being of all participants, Quirónsalud will deploy a comprehensive medical support system throughout the course, setting up five aid stations at kilometers 5, 10, 12, 15, and 18 to ensure proper hydration, which is key to improving circulation and optimizing athletic performance. In addition, these stations will also include stretching steps, and at kilometer 15 there will also be a physiotherapy team offering muscle release sessions.

Likewise, starting from kilometer 10, a team of eight physiorunners will be positioned along the course to provide immediate assistance in case of any overload, muscle discomfort, or minor issue that may arise during the race.

In the days leading up to the race, various professionals from Hospital Quirónsalud Málaga will offer specialized information and advice on health care, training planning, and dietary guidelines, so that runners can face the competition with maximum confidence and without compromising their well-being.

With this collaboration, Quirónsalud reaffirms its commitment to sport, in this case running, and to the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits, making available to runners its medical expertise and its dedication to comprehensive care in one of the most iconic sporting events on the national calendar. In recent years, it has also safeguarded the health of major races such as the Nationale Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana, the Behobia/San Sebastián, the Valencia 10K, or the Seville Half Marathon, among others.
